Celtic Illumination, parte quattro, unlike the pizza

Luckily, when you begin to search on-line for information about mould making, ninety per cent of the responses actually deal with mould making.  Some responses deal with the black stains that appear between tiles in the bathroom and some with growths that appear in dark damp places.  Now I was faced with a list of products and procedures that would confuse a man of average intelligence.  As you can guess I was very confused.
I began to experiment.  It’s okay, I wasn’t back injecting cocaine into my eyeballs, not that I ever did do that.  I bought some Vinamold.  Its basic property of being able to be re-used appealed to me.  Vinamold is a re-usable self-releasing rubber supplied in solid blocks although thermostatically controlled melting equipment is needed to use it.
Between beatings at Violent Hell I was learned Latin, so I knew that, roughly translated, Vinamold can be melted by placing it in a decent metal pan and putting it in the oven.  If you don’t have a thermometer to determine when it reaches its melting point of approximately 160C don’t worry.  When your wife runs into the kitchen screaming, “The fecking house is on fire!!” the Vinamold in the oven has reached approximately 160C.
This is the point where you realise that a dish cloth is not thermally resistant enough to withstand 160C and we are metaphorically back at the races, seeing whether or not you can place your pan of 160C bubbling Vinamold on a heat resistant surface before the flames from the dishcloth reach your naked skin.

On your marks, get ready, get set, go!

Part Three, where the violence, sex, and loud loud music begins.

Truthfully I hadn’t a clue where to start and I didn’t know which bus to catch for Transylvania.  This was not like fishing, where you could go to a shop, buy some fish, take them home and say “Look what I caught!”   Yes, okay, I know I should start at the beginning, but in reality I had started at the end.  You see I knew what the finished product should be, so I was already at the end.  All I needed now was to find where the start point was and as they say, join the two points together.
At school the start line was always a priest with a gun, so I began searching on-line for priests with guns, now you should get it.  Okay?  Keep up!  It wasn’t as bad as the time my youngest son asked me to download the film XXX.  I didn’t know that of the eleventeen million results Google found for me, that none of them starred Mark Sinclair Vincent who you would know played the character Xander Cage in the film XXX but is more better known as Vin Diesel.
However, even though there were plenty of priests with guns and nuns, in rubber, that’s the next blog again, well; the one after the next one.  Bear with me.   I still didn’t know where to start.  I knew loads of priests, in fact I would describe my school experience as one long cage fight with priests, and my school was known as Violent Hell.  But before they would thrash us, they would always say that this would hurt them more than it would hurt us.  It was their attempt to mold us into proper young little gentlemen.

And that’s when it hit me.  Not a priest, but the notion that I should do a wee bit of research into making moulds, from which of course would spring the wonderful and unique products that are Celtic Illumination.  I had found my start line and I hadn’t been anywhere near Transylvania!

Celtic Illumination, The part after the start, but way before the end, part two.

Now; when people talk about candles they tend to think of Elton John.  You know?  That song he sang, Roy Rogers.  I always thought he sang “Roy Rogers is frying tonight” making him a chip fryer.  He wasn’t a cook, he was a cowboy, which many chip fryers could be accused of being, even though these days they are mainly Chinese or Indian, but they all use fat, which reminds me of tallow and guess what, they used to make candles with tallow.
So I decided to listen to Roy Rogers, not the fellow who shouts “Hi ho silver away!!” but the one that Elton John sings and makes me think of candles.  So, Kimosabe, I began to wonder which shape I should use for the very first Celtic Knot candle.
And of course, as normal, confusion reigned.  Reigned being the operative word, for there’s me, when I hear of Roy Rogers, thinking Kemosabe, as I did in the previous paragraph.   But that’s the Lone Ranger and Tonto.  Roy Rogers was with Trigger, hey ho, we’re back to the priests with guns again!  You won’t understand that because I haven’t written it yet.  You’ll have to read the next blog entry to understand that one.  I know, I know.  I haven’t finished this one yet but I’ve already written the next one?  Think drugs, clunk, click, every trip.

Then it came to me, in the middle of all these cowboys and Indians and priests with guns, I would make a heart.  This of course would symbolise me injecting life into Celtic Illumination, jump starting the beating heart that would bring to life the world leading, world famous, designer, candle making company that is known today as Celtic Illumination.   All I needed was a castle in Transylvania, a few bolts of lightning and everything would be tickety-boo!

Celtic Illumination, a history of how it all started at the beginning

Celtic Knot Candles; a History.

Or: how to become a master candle maker.

It was about half past four o clock in the afternoon.
I was injecting cocaine directly into my eyeballs, no; sorry, I wasn’t.  I was having a cup of tea.  A cup of tea, and probably a biscuit.  I like biscuits especially plain ones.  So, I was having a cup of tea and a biscuit.  I was not injecting cocaine directly into my eyeballs, I mean, who injects cocaine at half past four in the afternoon?
Anyway, where was I?  Oh yes.  I was making patterns with this white powder.  The sugar I had spilled on the table.  I’m not a heathen.  I make sure that I am wearing evening dress, and I mean tails with white tie, not a skirt.  So I’m properly dressed, at the table, having a cup of tea and a biscuit when I had an idea.
I thought wouldn’t it be fantastic if I made a candle with a 10mm deep Celtic knot running all the way around it!
I know, it’s amazing the sort of ideas you can have when you are not injecting cocaine into your eyeballs.

So; that’s what I did.

Celtic Knot Orb

A new member of the Celtic Knot Candle family is the Celtic Knot Orb.  Like the Craic Pots there is a video available showing how I make them, why not nip over to the website and have a giggle.

Craic Pots

You may be aware, on the other hand, you may not, but Celtic Illumination has produced even more celtic themed products.   Our newest line would be the Craic Pots.  It would seem a bit daft telling you how they
are made when there is a video of the process that should also raise a smile.

Each Craic pot is hand made when your order is received.  DFor the complete range why not hop over to the website   http://celticillumination.weebly.com/   or look us up on Facebook at Celtic Illumination.

Going nuts

Going nuts today as I'm trying to bring everything together.  All candles from now on, or within the next few days, will be scented.  Number crunching all day trying to sort things out and keep prices relatively low.  Waiting for stock for replies, for ever.
